HP file leak display: Windows 8 has 6 versions

  
        Beijing time on February 28 morning news, according to two leaked HP documents, Microsoft may reduce the Windows 8 version to six.

Microsoft seems to hope that by reducing the number of versions to achieve the purpose of simplifying the Windows8.

US technology news site ZDNet blog author Stephen Chapman (StephenChapman) in the HP official website found the two documents, which seems to imply that the number of Microsoft's upcoming public offering of Windows8 version. Two documents list the Windows specific parameters supported by the HP Notebook Smart Card Reader driver. HP will Windows8 parameters later removed from the file, but according save Chapman down the screenshot shows, Windows8 total of six versions:

two versions is no specific name, perhaps to create individual user. The Enterprise Edition is of course aimed at large companies, while the Professional Edition may be available for small businesses and high-end users.

however, is still not sure whether these really are Windows8SKU. As Chapman points out, these names may be just file placeholders before the real SKUs surface.

Microsoft spokesman declined to comment.

if Chapman exposure SKU parameter is true, this indicates that Microsoft will have changed tactics, trying to limit the number of Windows8 version. In the past, Microsoft was accustomed to launching many versions of Windows, which often confuses. Windows 7 and Vista are typical examples.

Windows7 originally had six SKU: Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. However, these SKUs have been added with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Windows 7 therefore has 11 different versions (the entry version only supports the 32-bit version).

Vista also has 11 SKU: Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate editions; in addition to the Starter Edition 32-bit version only, the other five have 32 and 64 Two versions.

Windows8beta version (ie Consumer Preview) will be released on Wednesday, then, Windows8 how many versions, everything will come out.
