What can be done in Windows 8 Safe Mode

There are two ways to enter Windows 8 in Safe Mode.

1. Boot select Shift+F8.

2. In the msconfig, select “boot”“secure boot" in "minimum", after reboot. See Knowledge Base Knowledge Number: 077373 for details.

What can I do in safe mode?

1. System Restore.

If the operating system fails and does not start properly and can enter safe mode, then you can try to recover the system in safe mode. Enter the safe mode in the "Control Panel" select "Restore", find the "Restore" option after the start button, you can restore the system without losing personal data.

2, add and remove programs, delete files that cannot be deleted.

When deleting some files in normal mode or clearing the recycle bin, the system sometimes prompts "The file is being used and cannot be deleted", then we can delete it in safe mode. However, if you accidentally delete the files that the system really needs to use, the system will not start properly.

3, kill the virus in safe mode.

In the safe mode, it is allowed to load the necessary drivers. After entering the safe mode, you can open the anti-virus software and clean the virus.

4. Install and uninstall the driver.

Some failures that cannot be started are caused by driver failures of graphics cards, sound cards, etc., and can be disabled in safe mode. Uninstalling these failed drivers and reinstalling can solve the problem.

5, save the files in the system.

If the system is indeed unable to repair, you can enter the safe mode and use the mobile hard disk and other devices to export the data to prevent data loss.
