Win10 (GWX) upgrade application provides an additional confirmation that the upgrade time has been scheduled.

  

Windows 10 is almost mandatory. The various induced upgrades have recently triggered a slap in the face. Fortunately, Microsoft heard everyone’s voice and made an upgrade mechanism. Some new adjustments are no longer so radical.

Before this, if you are running Windows 7/8.1, you may receive a Windows 10 upgrade prompt box like this:

This is obviously a big Pit, if you don’t click to upgrade immediately, but click OK or close button, you will upgrade Windows 10 directly at the time set by Microsoft. There will be no more prompts. The result is that many people used Windows 7 and then booted. It has changed to Windows 10.

Now, in the latest version of the Get Windows 10 (GWX) upgrade application, Microsoft offers an option to additionally confirm that the upgrade time has been scheduled, which is equivalent to giving a regret.

[Change the scheduled upgrade time]

1. Close all GWX dialogs first, then restart the GWX application by clicking the Windows icon at the bottom of the screen.

2, once you restart GWX, you will see one of the following messages:

(1), pop-up box: It is recommended to upgrade this PC to Windows 10

(2), pop-up box: Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10

According to these pop-ups, you can manage your Windows 10 upgrade schedule.

If you want to schedule or start an upgrade, follow the instructions in the pop-up box.

If you don't want to schedule an upgrade, you can choose to "click here to change the upgrade schedule or cancel the scheduled upgrade" or click on Red & X;

If you receive a pop-up box that says "You are ready to upgrade at any time", click on the link at the bottom to reschedule or cancel the upgrade.

(3), pop-up box: You have registered Windows 10, everything is ready!

If you receive the above pop-up:

To schedule or start the upgrade, follow the instructions in the pop-up box.

Do not want to schedule an upgrade, click on the "Change upgrade schedule or cancel the scheduled upgrade" link, then select the option to cancel the upgrade below

If your upgrade is scheduled, you will see This message: It is recommended that this PC be updated to Windows 10. To cancel a scheduled upgrade, click the “change upgrade schedule or cancel the scheduled upgrade" link, then select the Cancel schedule upgrade option in the pop-up box below.


When you schedule an upgrade, you will receive a reminder 15 minutes before the upgrade begins. When the reminder appears, you can click I need more time to reschedule or cancel the upgrade.

[Close Notifications]

If you don't want to receive pop-up notifications about free upgrades, you can turn off notifications and hide the GWX app. If you really don't want to upgrade, you should confirm that you have cancelled the planned upgrade by following the instructions above before closing the notification.

Note: If your upgrade has been scheduled, even if the notification window is closed, a reminder will appear 15 minutes before the upgrade starts.

1. Right-click (or hold) the taskbar and select Properties.

2. On the taskbar tab, go to the notification area and select Custom ……

3. In the notification area icon window, select the hidden icon and notification for the GWX icon.
