Microsoft reconfirmed: Win10 is only free upgrade in the first year, after which you have to pay

Computer Store News: Microsoft has been promoting Windows 10, and the most eye-catching means of promotion is that Windows 7, 8 or Phone 8.1 users can upgrade for free during the first year of the new operating system release. Microsoft is also sparing no effort to spread the promotional highlights of "free upgrades" to ensure that Windows 10 installations reach the goal of 1 billion users. In a post on the Microsoft Australia Partner Network today, Microsoft made it clear that Win10 is only a one-year free upgrade, and upgrades will require a fee.

After a one-year free upgrade, the post will be upgraded by purchasing a boxed product (we think Microsoft will provide a digital version). Posts said:

Within one year after the official release of Win10, Microsoft will provide a free upgrade for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows Phone 8.1 devices with licenses. After one year, you need to upgrade Windows 10 by purchasing boxed products and volume licenses.

Previously, Microsoft only said that it could be upgraded for free in the first year, but did not explicitly say the situation after one year. Now that we have received a response from Microsoft, we can upgrade Windows 10 for free in the first year, and this offer will not be extended.

After Windows 10 is released, Microsoft will offer payment options for Windows XP or Vista, along with full operating system copy users. However, Microsoft has not disclosed any information about the cost of purchasing the full version of Win10 separately and the upgrade fee after one year.
