The report shows that there were more than 350 vulnerabilities in Windows XP, Win7 and Win8 in 2013. Although Microsoft has made many improvements, this number has doubled compared to 2012. There are 102 Windows 7 vulnerabilities, 50 in 2012; there are only 99 Windows XP vulnerabilities, 49 in 2012, and 156 Win8 vulnerabilities.

The reason why Win8 vulnerability is so much, one of the most important reasons is that its IE incorporates Adobe's Flash Player. IE10, Win8 default IE browser, support built-in Flash Player, which means that Microsoft needs to cooperate with Adobe, need to fix the browser itself whenever a vulnerability occurs.


A comprehensive chart showing Microsoft operating systems, programs, and third-party applications shows that all versions of Windows currently supported by Microsoft have a vulnerability of 1200 last year, and Win8 once again tops the list. 1261.
