Microsoft to create Cortana voice assistant

Computer store news: Apple iOS has Siri, Google Android has Google Now, Microsoft is creating a "Cortana" personal voice assistant for WP, codenamed from the role of Halo game.

Microsoft will build Cortana on TellMe's services to provide personal intelligence and voice assistant services similar to Siri, which will span most of Microsoft's products, such as Windows Phone, Windows. And the Xbox operating system.

Cortana will be part of the Windows Phone 8.1 update and is expected to be released early next year. Microsoft seems to have tested the service in the Win8 GDR3 update, but the GDR3 released at the end of the year will not bring Cortana to the WP8 platform.

Also, Cortana will only be available to US users with Windows Phone 8.1 next year, while non-US users will have to wait until the end of 2014 to use this virtual assistant.
