Hide hard disk partitions to make computer data more secure

Usually we don't want others to check the hard drive data of their computer. It is done by setting a password program. Sometimes it is a pain to forget the password. So, is there any way to neither protect encryption nor protect privacy?

1. Hide the disk drive icon in My Computer

The steps are as follows:

1Click “Start”Menu → Select “Run”, type regedit to open the Registry Editor.

2Go into the HKEY_CURRENT_USER SoftWare microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Policies Explorer branch.

3 In the right window, create a new binary value named "NoDrives", the disk drive corresponds to the following key values: A drive is "1000000", B drive is "ld"; 02000000”, C drive is "04000000", D drive is " 08000000”, E drive is "10000000", F drive is < 20000000”. That is, the alphabetic order of the disk drives (A-Z) is incremented from a multiple of hexadecimal. Assign the key value corresponding to the disk drive you want to hide to hexadecimal value to “NoDrives”, so that the drive you want to hide is hidden in “My Computer”.

After this operation, enter "MS-DOS mode" can still operate. So we have to hide the disk drive under "MS-DOS".

2, hide the disk drive under MS-DOS mode

The operation steps are as follows:

1“Start”→“Run” Type regedit to open the Registry Editor.

2Go into the HKEY_CURRENT_USER SoftWare Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Policies branch.

3In the branch, create a new primary key <;WinOldApp”, under the primary key, create a new DWORD value key name "Disabled", and then set its key value to “1”.

The best of both worlds is not without it, just because we have discovered it. With the above settings, we can protect our privacy without encrypting, and use hidden hard disk partitions to protect data security. .
