Windows Server 2008 R2 method and precautions for modifying SID

I just installed Windows2008R2 today and I am going to do the experiment. Again, I used a master and a differencing disk for the virtual machine. When using the NewSID to perform the update SID operation on the newly created virtual machine, everything works fine, but when it is updated and restarted into the system, it is blue screen.

It was not possible to update the SID with NewSID in Windows Server 2008 R2, so only use the Sysprep that comes with the system to change the SID. Let's share the steps below.

First use the psgetsid in PStools to view the current system SID.

OK, run Sysprep

Select "<;General" here, and then execute!

After the execution is completed, the system will automatically restart and enter the system after making the necessary settings.

OK, check the SID again after you finish.

After the execution is complete, the SID update is successful, compared to before. It's really a bit of a hassle. After performing the SID replacement operation, many of the system's original settings will be invalid (this includes user configuration, Windows activation) and must be re-executed.

The advice of prain is very good, you can use the Sysprep command line unattended answer file to execute, so that the corresponding settings will not be invalid.

Today, I just installed the 2008R2 accidental discovery. I will share the steps I have made and hope to be useful to my friends. If there is any improper or incorrect, please welcome criticism, hehe!
