Use "management tools" to optimize the operating system

  
Win2000/XP "management tools" is a very useful system tool that comes with the system. It can modify and manage hard disk partitions, passwords, processes, data and a series of important parameters of system operation. Mastering its use method can optimize the operating system to the maximum extent and make the computer operation more convenient.

I. hard disk management

Click "Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Computer Management", in the pop-up operation box, click "Storage → Disk Management" in the left column, the parameters of the hard disk and CD-ROM in the right column are clear, as shown in Figure 1.

Delete the logical drive. Right click on the drive you want to delete and select Delete Logical Drive in the pop-up dialog box, as shown in Figure 2.

After the deletion, the logical drive becomes available. If you want to create a logical drive, you can right-click on the available space and select Create Logical Drive. In the Disk Partition Wizard that pops up, you can do the next step. If you have added a new hard disk, you can right-click on the new disk partition and then step through the main and extended disk partitions in the pop-up dialog box, as shown in Figure 3.
Second, restore the personal configuration

Win2000 /XP in Win2000 /XP personal configuration file in the "Documents and Settings" folder. There are several folders there, corresponding to different users (login with different accounts, display different shortcuts and personal settings) as shown in Figure 4.


If your personal configuration is lost, you can use the following methods to recover. "Administrative Tools → Computer Management", open "Local Users and Groups", and then select "Users" as shown in Figure 5.

Then select the user you want to restore from the right column, double-click to open its properties window, then select the "Profile" page, fill in the "Profile Path" box to fill in the configuration file you want to restore. path. Then press OK to save and close the window, and finally restart Windows, as shown in Figure 6.
