Graphical Windows Vista operating system installation process

It should be noted that in the testing phase, the current Windows Vista can be upgraded from the existing old version of the system, but this requires the system disk to have at least 15GB of free space, and It is required that the two systematic languages must be consistent. In addition to the upgrade installation, we can also perform a new installation. Please pay attention to the new installation. If you obtained the Windows Vista installation CD image (such as .iso file) by downloading, you can use these files directly with the virtual CD-ROM drive. The software is loaded and then installed normally. Or you can burn it to a disc to boot the system installation. If you plan to use a virtual drive, you don't have to worry about the system being restarted because the virtual drive software is not running. The Windows Vista installer will copy all the files needed for the installation from the “virtual” drive to the temporary folder on the hard disk before proceeding with the system reboot, and continue to complete the subsequent installation.

Below we will introduce you to the installation process of Windows Vista by using a CD to boot your computer for a new installation. This article is divided into four parts: preparation before Vista installation, installation process, setup and experience before initial use.

Note: This article introduces the Build 5536 version just released from the previous week. The installation process in the official version may change. In addition, the screenshots used in this article are all taken by a digital camera.

Pre-installation preparation

If you obtained an image file of the Windows Vista installation CD by downloading it, you first need to burn it to a disc. This requires you to have a DVD burner and the corresponding burning software.

Note that when burning, because of the volume of the file, you can't burn it to a CD. You must use a DVD, which requires you to have a DVD burner. At the same time, because this is a beta version of the software, in order not to waste the disc, it is recommended that you burn the file to a rewritable DVD± RW or DVD-RAM disc.

You can't use the Windows XP operating system's own burning function, because this function can only burn the files on the hard disk to a disc, and you can't burn the image file in the form of "Mirror". For example, in the Nero Burning ROM 7 Simplified Chinese version, you need to select the “Burn Image File” command under Nero's “Burner” menu, and then select the downloaded .iso file to start burning.

If you don't have a DVD burner, you can also use the virtual drive software to load the image file. It is recommended to use the free Daemon Tools.

Assuming you have a burned DVD or a ready-made Windows Vista installation CD, please restart your computer and go to the BIOS setup screen (the usual method is to perform a self-test on the computer) When you press the Del key on the keyboard, of course, some models of computers may be different, please refer to the computer or motherboard manual for details. In the BIOS setup interface, make sure that the CD-ROM drive is the first boot device, then exit the BIOS setup interface, the CD-ROM starts booting the computer, and we continue to install.
