How to install Windows Vista system in RAID system

At present, many players' computers use RAID system and plan to install Windows Vista on RAID system. Although Windows Vista is more intuitive to install on a RAID system, the method is different from the past, and many people have troubles during the installation process. Let's take a look at the correct installation method.

What is RAID?

RAID is an abbreviation for Redundant Array of Independent Disks, or disk array. It is a technology that combines multiple physical hard disks in different ways to form a hard disk group (logical hard disk), which provides higher storage performance or security than a single hard disk. The most common RAID formats are RAID 0 and RAID 1. The former provides higher storage performance and the latter provides better data security.

1. First download the Vista version of the chipset driver, and then extract the driver to the root directory of the storage medium (such as floppy disk, CD, DVD or flash drive). If the chipset does not have a corresponding Vista driver, you can use the Windows XP RAID driver instead. It is important to note that the previous Windows XP RAID driver was often stored in a folder after decompression, but now all the driver files in the folder must be copied to the root directory, because Windows Vista will only load the RAID driver. Search the root directory of the storage media!

Contrast: Windows XP can only load RAID drivers through a floppy drive, which is very inconvenient.

2. Then start the Windows Vista installation interface, click "NEXT" all the way, until you choose the installation partition is the key. Click on the "Load Driver" option in the lower left corner of the interface (Figure 1).

Contrast: Windows XP needs to press the F6 key to load the driver on the floppy disk. If you miss the time, you only have to restart it.

3. Then a dialog box will pop up: "You can install the RAID driver on a floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive" for the operating system to read and insert the storage medium for the RAID driver. Computer and click "OK" (Figure 2).

4. The system then searches for the RAID driver in the storage medium and displays the search results after about 3 to 4 seconds (Figure 3). In order to ensure the smoothest installation, hold down the Ctrl key and click on all the drivers. Finally, click “NEXT” and the RAID system will be recognized.

Contrast: When installing Windows XP, you need to select the correct RAID driver in the list; now, you will be able to drive all selections.

For motherboards with nForce3 or lower chipsets, since there is no corresponding Vista RAID driver, try using the Windows XP RAID driver instead. It should be noted that in the step of Figure 3, check "Hide drivers
