In Windows XP, it's more powerful: we can also use this tool to implement the restore function, Windows XP "system file checker" can scan all protected system files to verify its version, you can also set the file Cache size, clear file cache, and repopulate the "%SystemRoot%\\System32\\Dllcache" folder.

To enable the System File Checker in Windows XP, first run the Command Prompt: Click Start → All Programs → Accessories → Command Prompt, or click Start → Run. "Command, type "cmd" in the command line and press the Enter key. Then type "Sfc" at the cursor prompt in the "Command Prompt" window and press the Enter key. A prompt like the one shown below will be given.

For example, if we type "Sfc/SCANNOW", press the Enter key, the "System File Checker" will start to check whether the current system file is damaged and the version is correct.
