Win 7 system speed is only a little faster than Vista system

Although many of the previous reviews have said that Windows 7 is many times faster than Vista, but some people do not agree. PCWorld has built a platform to test how much faster Windows 7 is than Vista. The results show that Windows 7 performance is only 5% less than Vista.

The PCWorld website installs Windows 7 RC on three different systems (two desktops, one laptop), then runs the WorldBench 6 test software, and then compares it with the three systems on which Vista is installed. The systems are "slightly" faster than the previous Vista, but no more than 5%. The systems tested were Maingear M4A79T Deluxe, HP Pavillion a6710t and Dell Studio XPS 16. The Maingear M4A79T Deluxe features a 3.2GHz AMD Phenom X4 955 black CPU and overclocked to 3.71GHz with 4G of memory and two ATI Radeon HD 4890 graphics cards. HP's mainstream platform uses a 2.6GHz dual-core Pentium E5300 CPU, 3GB of RAM, and an nVIDIA GeForce 930GE graphics card. Finally, the Dell Studio series notebooks use a 2.4GHz Intel Core2 dual-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 graphics card.

WorldBench 6 tested 10 general applications, including Office, Firefox, Photoshop, etc., only leading in the test Up to 5%. However, when testing the Nero software, Windows 7 has a big advantage. It runs faster than Vista. According to the analysis, it should be updated with the hard disk drive. Other tests also show that Windows 7 reads on the hard disk compared to Vista. The aspect is much better than the performance of Vista.
