How to enable IE to allow installation of objects with invalid signatures

Phenomenon

If an object contains an invalid signature, Internet Explorer will disable its installation by default. Although this is an enhanced security setting for XP SP2, an error will occur if the page requires this object. By default, even an administrator cannot download and install such invalid signed objects through Internet Explorer.

Analysis/Solution

Open Internet Options in the Control Panel and go to the Advanced tab;

Check the Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid option; Br>

Confirm exit.

Why the Security Center (Windows Security Center) detects that the virus monitoring software is in an unknown state

Phenomenon

Security Center (Windows Security Center, WSC) reports that the status of virus monitoring/antivirus software is unknown.

Analysis

The unknown status reported by the Security Center means that WSC will not be able to determine if the virus signature database file of the virus monitoring software has been updated recently and whether the local library file has been updated. The virus monitoring software can only work most effectively after updating the latest virus signature database. This is why the Security Center warns users about this unknown state.

Solve

Update the Virus Pattern Library.

Contact your anti-virus software vendor to verify that the software has an upgrade package to allow SP2 to detect its online virus signature updates.

Buy anti-virus software or update its license to get virus signature updates.

Configure Security Center to allow users to manually monitor their status.
