"My Documents" is a system folder in Windows XP, but many friends do not use it often, or just use it to store some 曰Working documents. In fact, "My Documents" is not just a simple file storage, it also contains a lot of secrets and features not used!
1. My Documents” can also make screensavers
at &ldquo ; My document & rdquo; default has a "picture collection" folder, in Windows XP using the picture collection folder, you can easily create dynamic screen protection.
First copy the image to be screen protected to the "My Documents & Rarr; Image Collection" folder, then right click on the desktop and select the "Properties" command in the pop-up menu. Click the “Screen Saver” tab, select ““ Picture Collection Slideshow” in the drop-down box, and then click the “Settings” button to set the screen saver display effect in the settings dialog box. When you're done, click “Preview” to see the effect.
Check the "Use transition effect between photos" option to have a beautiful image switching effect.
2. Create <;No window" resource manager
By setting, you can view the content of "My Documents" in the "Start" menu, and you can use this function to create a convenient Resource manager.
First right click on the "Start" menu, select "Properties", click the "Customize" button, open the "Advanced" tab, in the "Start menu item" Find “My Documents” in the list and set it to “display as menu”. After setting, select “My Documents” in the “Start” menu to automatically pop up the next sub-menu, from which you can see “My Music” and “My Pictures”. And so on.
Now, according to the above method, set the default path modification of “My Documents  to a common work drive letter, for example, it can be set to “D:\\”. After setting, click “start → all programs”, move the mouse to “My Documents>, you can see all the folders and subfolders in the D drive. And it can conveniently display the next sub-menu, jump in each sub-folder, copy the moving files and other operations. This "mini" type of resource manager has no window, it will be automatically closed after opening, no need to click the mouse when jumping to the directory, and it can be called at any time when there are other program windows on the desktop to maximize the work. Does not affect the use of other programs.
3. Change the path to save the file
“My document” The default path is "C:\\Documents and Settings\\username\\My Documents”, and for security reasons, usually everyone's working files It will not be saved on the system partition, so it is necessary to transfer the "My Documents" path.
Right click on the “My Documents” icon on the desktop and select the "Properties" command to open the property settings dialog. Go to the “destination folder” tab and click the “move" button. In the pop-up browsing folder dialog box, select the common working folder path. In this way, when editing a file later, it can be conveniently saved to the working folder at any time.
Sometimes you need to copy files from multiple different paths and move them to a specific folder. You can set the "My Documents" path to the folder where you want to save the file. Then right click on the file you want to move, select the “send to →My Documents” command in the popup menu to quickly copy files from different paths to the specified location.
4. Fast network sharing files
Sometimes some documents need to be shared on the network for other users to view, or edited by multiple people. In this case, you can set the default path of "My Documents" to Network. shared. Right click on “My Documents", open the Properties dialog in the pop-up menu and select the “Share” tab. Set a share name, and the number of users that can be accessed. Click the “Permissions” button to set the user's read and write access to “My Documents”. After the completion, when you want to share the file with other network users, right click and select “send to → my document”, the operation is very convenient.
5. Document Index Accelerated Search
If you often want to search for data in “My Documents", you can open the “My Documents" indexing function, so the search speed will be greatly improved.
Right click on “My Documents", select the "Properties" command, then click on the “Advanced” button in the "General" tab, under "Archive & Index" , set the index of the files in “My Documents  to speed up the search.
