Recovery Console Command Input Tips

        Starting from Windows 2000, Microsoft provides users with a "failure recovery console" (hereinafter referred to as the console). Through the introduction of our previous articles, I believe that you have already understood that there are major failures in Windows, such as: even the security mode can not enter When you can start it to save the system. Although the console and the previous DOS
are somewhat similar in interface and usage, there are also many differences, so there may be some difficulties in using them. Let's introduce them below.

1. long folder name must be in quotation marks ( ")

type a long folder names or a long file name in the console, you must use quotation quotes. Otherwise, it will display" No such folder or file. For example: To enter the "C:\\Windows\\WindowsUpdate" directory, type the command: "cd c:\\Windows\\"WindowsUpdate"", or "cd c:\\"Windows\\WindowsUpdate" , or "cd "c:\\Windows\\WindowsUpdate"".

My experience: If you use the DIR command column directory in the console, the results will be displayed with the previous DOS
On the contrary, the file or folder name is listed at the end, the first is the creation time. In addition, the ERUNT software introduced in "Computer Enthusiast" 16 and 18 is really great, and there are problems when installing the software several times. The system blue screen can not be started, I am entering the console, enter the WINNT\\ERDNT folder, here is the backup of the system registry when booting every day, their folder name is "2004-11-03" format, Therefore, you must enter "CD "2004-11-03" when entering. This has recently upgraded the software, download address is:. http://home.t-online.de/home/lars.hederer/erunt/erunt-setup.exe

2 Folder names must contain quotation marks (")

To type a folder or file name that contains spaces in the console, you must enclose it in quotation marks. Otherwise, "Parameter invalid" will be displayed. For example: To enter the "C:\\Windows\\Windows Update" directory, type "cd c:\\Windows\\"windows update"", or "cd c:\\"Windows\\windows update"", or "cd "c: \\Windows\\Windows update"".

3. access to non-Windows directory

By default, the console can only access the Windows directory. To access other directories, you need to perform the following steps.

Step 1: Log in to Windows, click "Start → Run", type "Gpedit.msc" command and press Enter, click "Computer Configuration → Windows Settings → Security Settings → Local Policies → Security Options" , double-click "Recovery Console: Allow floppy copy and access to all drives and folders" and select "Enabled."

Step 2: Enter the console, type "Set" command at the command prompt, and press Enter:

AllowWildCards = FALSE

AllowAllPaths = FALSE < BR>
AllowRemovableMedia = FALSE

NoCopyPrompt = FALSE

Then type "set allowallpaths = true" at the command prompt and press Enter (note that there must be one around the equal sign) Spaces), you can access other directories. Otherwise, "No Access" will be displayed.

My Experience: Recently, my computer is running very slowly, see the Windows XP "Start" item, find a few more procedures. Open the directory, there are two executable files, wincomm.exe and winlock.exe. After wincomm.exe runs, it will monitor itself in the registry startup key value and make winlock.exe run and monitor it at any time. Similarly, winlock.exe also monitors whether wincomm.exe is running, once it finds that the other party is not in memory. In the middle, it immediately makes the other party run. According to this principle, if it is a virus, antivirus software wants to clear it is difficult. I used the console to solve this problem easily. First set it up according to the above method, then use the CD command to enter the folder where the two programs are located, and then type: "del wincomm.exe" and "del winlock.exe", and finally Two programs that are difficult to delete are fixed.

4. Return to the previous directory

You must type the "cd .." command, you can not use the "cd \\" command.

5. Carefully

letter change drive letter may change in the console, such as the location of the mobile hard disk may be ahead. To avoid operational errors, entering the “Map” command and pressing Enter will display all currently available drive letters, file systems, and space sizes, etc., based on this.

Tips

To exit the console, type "exit" at the command prompt to restart the computer.
