Six days to learn Visual Basic database programming to analyze the "shock wave" malignant worm XP operating system. In order to facilitate the use of roommates, but do not want them to tamper with my files, installed software or some other private privacy, so I opened them a few "restricted accounts." However, the problem arises: although "My Documents" can be set to private, it is impossible to manage any files and software in "My Documents" for convenience management; if there are other folders or other disks, "Restricted" Accounts can be viewed, changed, and how can I protect my private files? We know that folder permissions can be set in Windows XP, and you can use this feature to restrict others from using your computer. Below we take the example of the "Tencent" folder in the directory where the QQ in the D disk is limited, and how to operate.

First of all, the disk to set permissions must be NTFS file system, if not, click "Start" - "Run", enter "convert d: /fs: ntfs" (excluding quotes, where d: The drive letter to be converted is converted to the NTFS file system. After the conversion is complete, open a folder arbitrarily, click "Tools" - "Folder Options" on the menu, and select "View" in the pop-up window. As shown in the figure, cancel the selection of "Use simple file sharing (recommended)" and click "OK" to close the window.

Next, right click on the "Tencent" folder where you want to set permissions, select "Properties" - "Security", then you can see the window for setting permissions. Select the "Users" group in "Group or User Name" and set the permissions in "Users Permissions" below to limit the use of this folder by the "restricted account" of the roommate. As long as you cancel the "Read and Run" item, "Restricted Account" will not be able to open this folder, and you will not be able to use the QQ in the folder!

If there are multiple "restricted accounts", you can also click "Add" in the figure, enter the name of an account to set the permissions policy of this account, the setting method is the same as described above. In this way, we can specifically set a "restricted account" to access this folder, a "restricted account" can not access.

If someone else uses your computer, this method can effectively protect your privacy, so you don't have to worry about other people tampering with your computer. Everything is done by yourself!
