        The fifth thing that must be done: Turn off useless services



There are a lot of services in Windows XP that are useless, but they occupy a lot of system resources. We can turn it off: right click on "My Computer", select "Manage", click on the "Services" item under "Services and Applications", double-click the corresponding service, click "Properties", in "General" On the tab, click the Startup Type drop-down list box and select Auto, Manual, or Disable (Figure 5). In actual configuration, you can turn off the service by selecting “Manual” or “Disabled”. It is recommended to use the manual function so that you can start some services that are temporarily needed at any time.

In addition, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", click the "Remote" tab, under "Remote Desktop", The "Allow users to connect to this computer remotely" hook can be removed to cancel the remote desktop, so the computer will be safer (Figure 6).

Sixth thing must be done: Back up the system
