Is bandwidth allocation selected in cloud mode shared or exclusive?

  
                  

If your company is discussing solutions with cloud providers, bandwidth is an unavoidable key issue. For example, cloud-based storage provides a completely independent Internet connection for many users to access "all-in-one" cloud storage. Traffic that is transmitted to the cloud storage provider is made through a clearly defined connection line. This situation also occurs in a link in the storage network applied to the data protection strategy, a separate connection to a different storage system, enabling data migration around the enterprise.

This situation has led to a dilemma. Should all the bandwidth be shared together, or should they be divided into dedicated point-to-point connections to better meet the needs of large customers?

For this problem, there is a view that concentrating all the bandwidth into one can get the biggest advantage in data transmission. And, if the operator can provide redundant bandwidth, the scalability of this mode can also be guaranteed. In this case, most of the bandwidth can be effectively utilized; however, there is a risk that individual users may occupy too much bandwidth.

In the case that the overall quality of service (QoS) does not adequately meet the needs of many decentralized systems, it may be better to assign independent dedicated connections to all key customers. This situation is related to many factors, but usually the main reason is the allocation of costs and expenses. For example, the simplest case is that if the storage network already has a dedicated connection, the company should choose to use a separate connection. Make further choices and ask yourself why you need reasonable quality of service rules if you plan to pay more for storage technology-specific connections.

You can choose any one of them, of course, the key to the problem is its reliability. For large customers with dedicated connections, other connections can be selected at the same time as the failure.
