If you think open source server technology is only for the Linux operating system, then consider it. Although these software projects are very well matched to Linux, they are not part of the top 10 open source technology products discussed in this article. Open source software is no longer limited to Linux applications. In fact, today's open source technology has completely crossed all operating system barriers, and even Microsoft has launched their own open source lab (named Port 25) and became the Platinum-level initiator of the San Francisco Open Source Enterprise Conference. Many of these products are free to use or Close to free use.
