Using light and shadow magic hands to repair damaged digital photos

There are many people who like to travel, and almost everyone has a digital camera. However, due to various reasons such as climate, environment, and light, the photos taken with digital cameras may not be very good. One, batch import photos from DC

The premise of repairing photos is to import photos into the computer, we just need to connect the digital camera with its supporting connection (usually USB cable) Go to the computer, then start the light and shadow magic hand, select "File" → "Get Picture" → "From Digital Camera or Card Reader" command (Figure 1), then follow the wizard in the open window.

Second, use the diagnostic center

The new version of the light and shadow magic hand provides a "diagnostic center" function (Figure 2), has been listed in the common photo repair function, easy to operate . We just need to click the corresponding repair function, then open the photo operation (Figure 3), after completion, it will return to the wizard window to continue.

Three, let the CCD dead point come back to life

I found that the DC I purchased has a CCD dead point It is undoubtedly a very big regret. Although for a multi-megapixel digital camera, one or two bad points have little effect, but for the pursuit of perfect "color friends", it is enough to cause anxiety. In some high-end DCs, CCD dead spots can be marked and masked by the CCD formatting function. But for some low-end cameras, we only have to fix it with the help of the light and shadow magic hand-killing function. The main principle is to analyze the content around the dead point and then intelligently fill in the image content of the dead-point position.

Little knowledge What is CCD dead point

The so-called CCD dead point is the damage of a photosensitive unit in the CCD of the indexing camera. All white or all black spots appear in the fixed position of each photo.

First of all, we need to use the shadow magic hand to analyze the location of the photo's dead pixels. Take a black photo proof without removing the lens cap. If there is a dead point on the CCD, it will be easy to find on such a black photo. It should be noted that when shooting dead samples, the ISO should be set to a minimum and the shutter speed should be faster than one-half second. This way there is less noise on the photo and it will not affect the dead point analysis.

Run the light and shadow magic hand, and open the photo that needs to be repaired, then click "Tools" → "CCD dead point patching" → "CCD dead point patching", pop-up "dead point patching" tool. Then click the “Set Dead-Band Sample” button, then call up the all-black sample we just generated, and the software will immediately analyze the number and location of the dead pixels in the sample. Finally, click the “Start Patching” button, the light and shadow magic hand will start to interpolate the content of the dead point according to the pixel distribution around the dead point, so that the bad point image is repaired (Figure 4).

Fourth, practical digital repair function

In addition, there are many more practical digital repair features: such as "high ISO denoising can remove the red and green noise in the photo when the digital camera has a high ISO setting, and does not affect the photo sharpness; "red saturation attenuation" is designed for the weak point of the CCD to the red resolution difference, effectively repairing the red overflow photo (such as "Red flower with no red detail"; "One finger white balance" corrects the color deviation of digital photos, restores natural color, can be fine-tuned manually; "Auto white balance" intelligently corrects white balance inaccurate photo tones; "Serious white balance error "Correction" has special effects for photo correction with severe color cast, and color overflow can also be supplemented; "Night Scene Noise Suppression" suppresses night scenes and large-area dark photos, and the denoising effect is remarkable without affecting sharpness...

V. Using the batch repair function

If we have too many photos to fix, we can use the batch processing function. Select the "File" → "Batch" command to open the window shown in Figure 5. We can add the images to the conversion list by clicking the "Directory" button and then selecting the folder where the image to be converted is located. Click the "Automatic Processing" tab, where we can add/set special repair effects (Figure 5, such as "Severe White Balance Error Correction"), or click the corresponding button on the right to set it in the open window. and then click the "Output Settings" tab, where you can set the output file format, output folder and file name rules, these are very simple . Finally, just click the "OK" button to start the bulk repair operation.
