Thunder sees the problem of playing blue screen of death

Blue screen faults, like other faults, can be roughly divided into software and hardware according to the cause. Now, follow the principle of soft first and then hard to see the cause and solution of the fault!

First, the blue screen failure caused by the software.

1. Blue screen failure (including virus) caused by damage or loss of important files.
Example: VxD (virtual device driver) in Win98 or. Important files such as DLL dynamic link libraries are lost, and the situation is generally more serious, and a "blue screen warning" will appear.

Solution 1: Write down the missing or damaged file name. Use the "Ext" command in the Win98 boot disk to extract and recover corrupted or lost files from the Win98 installation disk. The steps are as follows:

(1) Boot the computer with the Win98 boot disk and type "Ext" at the prompt.

(2) After the prompt "Please enter the path to the Windows CAB files ( a):", enter the full path of the Win98 installation package, such as "F \\Pwin98\\Win98", press Enter when finished .

(3) Enter the missing file name you wrote down after the prompt "Please enter the name(s) of the file(s) you want to extract:", such as "Bios.Vxd", enter .

(4) After the path to extract the path "Please enter path to extract to ('Enter' for current directory):", enter the full path to which the file will be extracted, such as "C \\Windows\\System" and Knock back.

(5) Finally, the confirmation prompt “Is this Ok?(y/n):” appears. Enter “y” and press Enter. The "Ext" program automatically finds the CAB archive in the installation disk and releases the file to the specified location.

(6) Restart it.

Solution 2: Antivirus with antivirus software. Some viruses may damage the registry key. After the antivirus, the registry should restore the backup before poisoning.

Solution 3: If you can start the graphical interface, you can reinstall the motherboard and graphics card drivers, and perform a "system file scan" to recover corrupted or lost files. The method of “system file scanning” is to click “Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information/Tools/System File Checker” and then scan the changed files.

2. A corrupted registry caused a blue screen caused by a file pointing error.

Example: Unauthorized changes to the registry (including manual changes and automatic replacement during software installation) The phenomenon is manifested by a blue screen when booting or when calling the program, and the screen has an error message (including errors) file name).

Solution 1: Restore the backup.

(1) Click "Start /Shutdown /Restart your computer and switch to MS-DOS mode", then click "Yes";

(2) Enter the Windows directory. For example, if your Windows installation is in the "C \\Windows" directory, you should type the following "CD C \\WINDOWS" and press Enter

(3) Type "SCANREG\\RESTORE" and press Enter.

(4) According to the above steps, you can restore the registry to the state when the computer was last started.

Solution 2: Delete the key value.

If the blue screen appears after uninstalling the program, the author concludes that the failure is caused by the imperfect program uninstallation. Solving such problems is very simple. First you have to write down the file name of the error, and then find the following branch "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\System\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\VxD" in the registry. Enter the file name in "Find" and delete the found key value. At this point, don't forget to back up the registry!

Typical case: The author crashed in the middle of deleting Kingsoft Internet Security. After restarting, he just saw the icon on the desktop and a blue screen appeared, accompanied by an error message. The error message mentioned Kavkrnl. The vxd file could not be found. The author first determined that the file is not a Win98 system file according to the first two characters of the file name. The beginning of ka should be the virtual device driver of Kingsoft Internet Security. The basic judgment is that the file points to an error, so it is decided to delete the corresponding key value in the registry. Enter "Kavkrnl.vxd" in the lookup of the Registry Editor and delete the corresponding primary key value in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\System\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\VxD". After the restart, the fault is eliminated.

3. System. "blue screen" caused by ini file error

Example: The software is not uninstalled or the system is not updated immediately after installation. The error caused by the ini file.

Solution: Disable the item in the registry or reinstall the corresponding software or driver.

4. The blue screen caused by the imperfection of Win98 itself.

Example: sp1 of Win98 and Vxd_fix of Microsoft. The exe patch plays a crucial role in the stability of Win98.

Solution: Go to download, such as Huajun website Nanjing station http //nj. Onlinedown. Net/Win98SP1. Htm Win98sp1 and http //nj. Onlinedown. Net/Windows98VxDpatch. Htm Vxd_fix. Exe.

5. Blue screen failure caused by system resource exhaustion

Example: Blue screen failure often occurs when doing a relatively large job, or when saving a copy, and often occurs more suddenly. The cause of this type of failure is mainly related to the occupancy of three heap resources (system resources, user resources, GDI resources).

Solution: Open your resource status monitor and look at the remaining resources. If your three resources are 50% or lower, it is easy to appear like "illegal operation", "blue screen" or "Dead" failure. To do this, you must reduce resource waste, reduce unnecessary program loading, and avoid running large programs (graphics, sound, and video software) at the same time, such as loading scheduled tasks, input methods and sound indicators, sound card DOS drivers, system monitoring. Programs and more.
