A little bit better to improve BT download speed

Many people are very concerned about their download speed, and introduce my own experience to everyone, I hope to help everyone.

According to the experience of personal use of BT, the speed of downloading is mainly related to the following points:

1. Network bandwidth

If you are 1M ADSL Internet access, then the theoretical download speed can only reach 128K bytes /sec. Explain in detail here. What is the bandwidth we usually say, its unit is actually "bits /sec", and we say how much download speed, its unit is "bytes /sec." In the computer, 1 byte =8 bits, 1K bytes = 1024 bytes, so the download speed of 1M network bandwidth is up to 1024*1024/8=131072 bytes/second, which is 131072/1024=128K bytes/second. So you are You can calculate the theoretical maximum speed of your download based on your own network bandwidth. Of course, the actual speed will definitely be lower than this value, because the system and other programs need to use some.

2. System configuration < Br>

If your download speed is significantly lower than the theoretical value after calculation (1M bandwidth should be able to achieve download speed of more than 100K, other can be calculated according to this ratio, the requirement is not to run at the same time other need to connect to the network Program), then it may be a problem with your system configuration. This situation is more likely to appear on the internal network machine (in the LAN, through the proxy server /gateway Internet), the reasons may be the following

1) The proxy server/gateway limits the speed to the client.

This situation requires modifying the configuration on the server, increasing the bandwidth allocated to the client or canceling the bandwidth limit. Br>

2) The port mapping is not open on the server.

If this is the case, there is no way for the machine on the Internet to actively connect to your machine to transfer data to you, and the speed is naturally slow. In this case, you only need to open the port mapping on the server. How to operate it, please look it up on the Internet. There are still more information in this area.

3) LAN network bandwidth

For example, the speed at which the server connects to the external network is 10M. The first calculation method can theoretically download up to 12.8K bytes/second. However, in the LAN, two machines The communication speed is about 1/10 of the total network bandwidth, which means that 10M LAN, the bandwidth allocated to each client is only 1M, then the LAN becomes a bottleneck of the network speed, your download speed The highest degree can only reach 128K bytes /sec. This situation can be solved in this way: 1 - increase your LAN speed, replace the original 10M hub with a 100M switch /hub; 2 - do not use the client to download, Go to the server to download; 3- If the downloaded file is large, there are many files, then separate files on several clients, as long as you are not bothered.

3. Firewall software

The ports used by BT software are generally blocked by the firewall and do not allow external connections. For example, Skynet, you may have encountered the icon of Skynet constantly displaying "!" when you use BT software to download Looking at the log of Skynet, you will find that the external connection is forbidden. At this point you can add a TCP rule in Skynet and let go of the monitoring of the ports used by the BT software. Other firewall software should be similar.

4. Download the software

There are a lot of BT download software, this problem should not be big, unless it is the test version of the software, Bug is more, not stable enough. However, I have used Bit Torrent Plus (what is the name? When I first used BT), I can't always go up. The 1M ADSL download speed is only a few K, and later changed to BitSpirit, the speed is increased to 20~30K. Left and right, and later opened the port mapping, the speed can reach 110K /s.

By the way, there is also a situation where downloading the software itself (such as BitSpirit) is also a limited speed feature, and you need to pay attention to it. It is recommended that when you use a BT software, you should take a moment to find out how to use the software, especially the "options" function in the software, which is likely to hide a lot of mystery.

5. Other

The rest is the problem of the number of seeds and download users, fewer seeds, fewer download users, the speed will naturally be ugly. In this case, there is no way to act as a downloader, either to give up, or to endure, to see personal habits.
