In Windows98/Me/2000/Xp system, how do I install the driver without knowing the hardware model and manufacturer? The prerequisite is: the computer can connect to the Internet, the following is the specific operation method:

First, install the driver wizard

Download "Drive Wizard 2004 V1.9 Beta.exe" online, double-click the program after downloading installation. See Figure 1 below

The same is the license agreement, you can only agree, click "Yes" and appear below Figure 3

Here choose the installation directory, the default path is C:Program FilesDriverGenius, if you want to change the path, please click "Browse" and select the directory, here do not change the path and click "Next". The following figure 4 appears

Driver Wizard 2004 V1.9 Beta has built-in "3721 Internet Assistant" program. If you do not want to install the "3721 Internet Assistant" program at the same time, please cancel " Install the 3721 Internet Assistant's hook in the front square (click on the hook number), click “Next” after the selection, and then click “Next” to start the installation. After completion, the following figure appears.

Click to complete the knot speed installation procedure.
Second, connect to the Internet

Open the network connection and confirm that the web page can be opened.

Third, start the "Drive Wizard 2004 V1.9 Beta" Internet download driver
Click "Start" -> Point to "All Programs -> Driver Wizard 2004--> Drive Wizard 2004 ", as shown in Figure 6

Click on the last "Drive Wizard 2004" to open the program as shown in Figure 7

Clicking on the "Update Driver" icon in the toolbar with icons appears as shown below. Figure 8

List all the hardware devices of the computer on the left side of the figure. Click the “+” sign in front of the device type to see the device name. Click on any device, the program can go online to check if there is any update program, if there is any, you can display the detailed information in the prompt bar on the right side of the window, whether it is the hardware of the installed driver or the hardware without the driver installed, every time You can download the update from the website specified by the program by clicking the "Download Now" button (if the program cannot find the updated driver, it will give you a prompt). It is recommended that all downloaded update drivers be unzipped and saved in a different subdirectory under the same directory on your hard drive for later use.

Most of the downloaded drivers are compressed files or self-extracting files, as shown in Figure 9 below.

Sl116 is a self-extracting file, double-click it to appear as shown in Figure 10

In the pop-up window, click the "Beowre" button to select the decompressed Directory, select the directory to be stored and click "Unzip" to start decompressing the file. After completion, the image is displayed as shown below.

Click "OK" Close the dialog box, open the directory where the extracted files are located, and find the "Setup.exe" file as shown below. Figure 12

Double-click the Setup icon to start it. The driver is installed, follow the prompts (usually all the way to "OK" is OK).

2. If the downloaded file is a ZIP file, install the decompression software such as WinRAR 3.3 Simplified Chinese or Winzip on the 98/Me/2000 system, then right click on the compressed file and pop up. In the menu, click "Extract File" and specify the folder to be stored after decompression. Click "OK" to start decompression. If there is a setup.exe file in the folder after the file is extracted, double-click it and start installing the driver.

3. If there is no setup.exe file in the driver file, you can only manually install the driver. Method:
Right click on "My Computer"--> Properties--> ;(2000/xp/2003 system hardware)-->Device Manager-->Right-click the corresponding hardware model-->Update Driver-->Select to install the checkmark from the specified location-- >Browse-->Select the directory where the hardware driver is stored (the "OK" button will change from gray to action--> click "OK")
