Win10 start menu right click no response solution

Right click on the Win10 start button should pop up a super menu with more detailed functions. In the newer Windows 10 preview, this menu is more suitable for touch operations, and the distance between each item is wider. However, some users find that no matter how to right-click the button, the menu cannot be popped up. Left-clicking the start button can open the start menu normally, and right-clicking on the taskbar can also open the taskbar menu. In this case, as long as the missing items are added to the registry, the problem can be solved. This method is also applicable to Win8.1.

Before the registry operation, it is best to use the cleanup master to back up the registry to prevent problems caused by misoperations from being unrecoverable.

The specific method is as follows:

1. Execute "regedit" in the "Run" or Cortana search bar, open the registry editor

2, and locate HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\\lnkfile. Right click on the right margin, create a new → string value, rename it to IsShortcut, leave the value data blank (do not have to modify it), as shown below -

3, then Locate HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\\piffile, and build a string value according to the second step, still named IsShortcut, as shown below -

Restart the resource manager or restart the computer. Apply changes, start button right-click menu takes effect
