Setting Win7 Power Plan

When using a laptop, if the power is suddenly unplugged during power-on, the screen will be dimmed. This is the built-in power plan of the Win7 system, in order to save power for us to In the absence of a power supply, the use time can be maximized.
The power plan refers to the planning of the power supply of various hardware devices in the computer. It is very easy to configure the power supply by using the power plan. For example, the user can set the power plan to automatically turn off the display after 10 minutes without the user operating the computer, and put the computer to sleep after not operating the computer for 1 hour. Not only that, but you can also set more detailed power settings, such as turning off the power of the hard disk after 20 minutes without the user operating the computer, reducing the processor usage and changing the system cooling method.
Supported a very complete power plan in Win7, and built three power plans, respectively, "balance", "energy saving" and "high performance", the default is "balance" & rdquo ; power plan.

Select Power Plan
Balance: This power plan will provide maximum performance when the system needs full performance and be as energy efficient as the system is idle. This is the default power plan and is suitable for most users.
Energy Saving: This power plan will save energy for the user as much as possible. It is more suitable for users who use laptops to go out. This plan can help users improve the outdoor use time of the notebook computer.
High Performance: Regardless of whether the user currently needs sufficient performance, the system will maintain maximum performance and is the highest performance of the three programs, suitable for a small number of users with special needs.
Using a Power Plan
After understanding the power plan, users can replace the power plan to meet performance or energy savings. For laptops, using an energy-efficient power plan means having longer battery life, but there are some performance limitations; for desktop computers, using a high-performance power plan will keep the computer high-performance. There is no need to switch from low performance to high performance, but there is a higher power consumption relative to energy efficient power plans. If the user is using a laptop, you can move the pointer over the "Battery" icon in the notification area and a battery status and an indicator of the power plan will appear.

Power Plan Indicators
Users can check the remaining battery level here, as well as quickly switch the power plan and adjust the screen display brightness. If the user is using a desktop computer, the power plan cannot be used or changed directly in the notification area and needs to be changed in the power options of the control panel.
Creating a new power plan
The default three power plans may not meet the user's need for power management. Users can change the power plan directly or create a new power plan. Win7 provides very detailed power management settings, and users can customize power management in all aspects of the process when creating a new power plan. Users can follow the steps below:
First open the "Power Options" panel in the Control Panel, then click on the "Create Power Plan" link on the left, will switch to "Create Power Plan" & rdquo; The panel is as shown.

Creating a Power Plan
Select a power plan template here as a reference for the new power plan and enter a name for the new power plan.
After selecting the template and entering the plan name, click the “Next” button to select the computer's sleep settings and display settings, as shown below.

Setting the computer to sleep.
This will require the user to select the standby time before turning off the display and the standby time before the computer goes to sleep. The interface between the desktop and the laptop may be different, but the content selected by the user is the same.
After clicking the "Create" button, the new power plan will appear in the "Power Options" panel. After the creation, the user also needs to click the “Change Power Settings” link to the right of the new power plan. In the “Edit Plan Settings” panel click “Change Advanced Power Settings” link, it will open. “ Power Options & rdquo; dialog box, as shown below.

Change Advanced Power Settings
In the “Power Options” dialog box, you can make very detailed power management settings. Just like switching power plans, you need to click “&” in the dialog box. Use the Settings & rdquo; link to get permission to change all settings.
Energy Saving Mode
In previous versions of Windows, there was an energy saving mode called Standby, but it was replaced by sleep in Win7. Hibernation is an energy-saving mode in previous versions of Windows. By putting the computer into hibernation, you can save the contents of the current desktop and the data in the physical memory to the hard disk, and directly read the data from the hard disk at boot time. Memory to allow the user to quickly switch from the off state of the computer to the working state.
Sleep is a very important energy-saving mode in Win7, which is a kind of energy-saving mode similar to hibernation. When the computer is switched to sleep, the system will turn off all devices except physical memory that can go to sleep, which allows the desktop to be completely restored before it goes back to sleep when the user resumes the computer state. The physical memory power that is in a sleep state is very low, so users don't have to worry about sleep damage to physical device components and excessive power consumption.
In the state where there is no program to prevent the computer from sleeping, it takes only a few seconds to enter the sleep state and recover from the sleep state. The most important thing is to use the sleep to allow the user to quickly get between the working state and the closed state of the computer. Switch. For example, when a user suddenly needs to leave to print a document while at work, the computer can be switched to sleep state, and the computer is in a state of maximum energy saving.
