The news that Microsoft China Windows 7 genuine verification plan may be postponed

Recently, Microsoft China released a test report on piracy in the market. From the test of 97 pirated copies, 93% of the measured samples have potential risks. According to the latest news, there is still no clear timetable for the launch time of the Windows 7 Genuine Validation Program, which was originally scheduled to be implemented in the summer. Wei Qing, general manager of the marketing department of Microsoft China Consumer and Online Business Unit, told Sohu IT that Microsoft China’s test is not to counter piracy, but to let more and more people know the importance of genuine and promote the popularization of genuine .

Microsoft launched the "Windows Activation Technology Update for Windows 7" globally in February 2010. This update detects known and potentially dangerous activation crackers to better protect your computer.

For the pirated Windows7 "genuine activation" method that is prevalent on the Internet, Wei Qing said that the relationship between Microsoft's genuine authentication mechanism and piracy is "one foot high and one foot high". The "fight" between them will continue.

According to Microsoft related people, Sohu IT revealed that since Microsoft launched the Windows7 genuine verification in February this year, taking into account the actual situation of the Chinese market, the genuine verification plan for mainland China started in the summer. In China, "Windows Activation Technology Update for Windows 7" is not an "important update" to the system. Therefore, for most users, even if they use pirated software, the system does not prompt for verification. Users must verify that their system is genuine and can only download this update. It is understood that since February, more than 250,000 Chinese users have actively downloaded this update to verify their own computers. About 25% of these users did not pass the genuine verification.

This person told Sohu IT that despite the recent release of Windows 7 piracy test results, there is still no clear timetable for the launch of the Windows 7 Genuine Validation Program, which was originally scheduled for implementation in the summer.

A previous media report said that 80% of Microsoft China came from cracking down on piracy. Recently, Microsoft's action against piracy in Dongguan has also received widespread attention from domestic users. The "Genuine Verification" program launched since the Windows XP period has been subjected to greater resistance during the implementation process.
