Windows 7 window rendering will support DX10.1 to bring better Aero

Speaking of Windows Vista, the first reaction of many ordinary users is probably the new translucent window Arego Glass. While this user interface is mixed, its ability to accelerate with the GPU is indeed an improvement, and Windows 7 will continue to adopt this form of interface and be fully improved, including support for DX10.1. Anantha Kancherla, head of Windows desktop and graphics technology, gave a presentation on PDC 2008 entitled "Let your application shine on modern graphics hardware," which revealed that Windows 7 and its desktop window manager (DWM.exe) can take full advantage of GPU resources for acceleration, and supports Direct3D 10.1 API. The main benefits of this are:

1, from low-end integrated graphics to high-end flagship graphics can be well supported, and have the same outstanding performance.

2, the stream processor will be used to render the window blur effect, commonly known as frosted glass.

3, each window's memory (compared to Vista) can be reduced by about 50%.

4, support more, richer thumbnail animation effects, including "Color Hot-Track" & mdash; & mdash; when the mouse over the icon of different applications on the taskbar, highlight different The background color of the icon is different, and when the mouse rolls over the same application icon, the highlighted background color of the icon also changes as the mouse moves.
