3 ways to uninstall the Windows 7 SP1 system patch

A week ago, Microsoft officially launched the Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 public beta, and I believe many users who like to adopt it have already installed it. Although this time Windows 7 SP1 does not have much functional increase, mainly focused on fixing bugs and providing patches, but this does not hinder the willingness of many people to try.

However, perhaps many people still don't know, this SP1 public beta can't be directly upgraded to the official SP1 version released in the future (at least Microsoft said so), and this public beta is valid until 2011 3 On the 31st of the month, whether you are willing or not, you must first restore to the Windows 7 based on the original version of SP1.

Seeing that this is a dispelling of the trial ideas you just made? In fact, you don't have to worry, after all, this is just a patch-based service pack. Unlike Windows 7 itself, you just need to uninstall it, and the method is very simple.

There are three ways to uninstall it. Note: At present, the SP1 public beta does not support the Chinese interface. It needs to be installed on the English version. If you are using the English version + Chinese language package, you can first remove the Chinese language package.

1, the general uninstall method

is to uninstall through the "control panel", because the SP1 public beta is installed as a WIndows update file, so we can enter the control panel - program - Programs and features, click on “view installed updates" on the left side of the window. Then find the Service Pack for Microsoft For Windows (KB976932), select it and click the uninstall command above.

2, command line method

First enter CMD in the search bar of the start menu, then right click on the search result cmd.exe, select "ld"; run as administrator (run as Administrator). Then type: wusa.exe/uninstall/kb:976932 in the command line interface and press Enter.

3, system restore method

When Windows 7 installs the update patch, it will automatically create a restore point before installation. So we can also use the system restore method to restore the state before the installation. In order not to be overwritten by the update restore point after installing the SP1 public beta, it is recommended that you manually create a restore point. For information on how to create and restore a system, you can refer to it here.

Enter system restore in the Start menu search box, then click System Restore, then click Next. In the list box, find the restore point you created before installing SP1 public beta. After confirming the error, click Next to start. Restore operation.

Note: The system restore method is more suitable for some unexpected failures after SP1 installation. If you are after the SP1 public beta, everything is fine, then this method is not recommended, because if you restore to Before installing the SP1 public beta, all system settings changes made after installation will no longer exist.
