Win7 "Upgrade" "Copy and paste" changed to Win8

. Win8, which is praised by thousands of people, has finally settled in the small computer. Although it is still only a temporary account, the trial of a few days has already made it awkward. In contrast, the small version of Win7 that is used every day is simply useless. Just take that copy and paste. Win7's design is still at the level of a decade ago, except for a slight change in the operating interface, almost the same everywhere. In Windows 8, the new copy and paste not only has a speed chart, but even allows users to temporarily pause a copy to free up resources for other operations. Hey! This is a very practical design. Is there really no other way than to wait patiently for the arrival of Win8? Xiaobian thought of a good tool.

1. Software Installation name

this software called "TeraCopy", copy and paste is a professional third-party software, the system can directly replace existing copy and paste modules. The software is only 4.78 MB, and the installation process is no different from the general application software. After clicking the next step, the installation was successfully completed.

2. Copying the initial experience

When TeraCopy is installed, it automatically takes over the system copy. In other words, if we perform a copy at this time, the pop-up will be the TeraCopy interface.

You can see that the entire interface is divided into two groups, the top of which is the current replication progress, which records the total volume of the task, the copied volume, and the percentage of replication. At the same time, the right side of the progress bar will also indicate the current group that belongs to the entire task set. The lower end is a global progress bar that indicates the total volume of the entire task, the copied volume, the percentage of replication, and the remaining time, as well as the real-time speed at the top. It should be said that this interface is more intuitive than Win native, and it also contains more information.

3. Breakpoint resuming

Win8 copy and paste the biggest point of view, is to be able to pause the current task at any time, in order to free up resources for other operations, and this is precisely the highlight of TeraCopy. Under its global progress bar, you will find a "Pause" button, all the pending copies will be paused after clicking, waiting for the user to resume copying again when clicked.

In addition, this function also adds a mechanism similar to "mistake backtracking". When we click "Cancel" to cancel the task, TeraCopy will not disappear directly like Win7, but will open the window. For the time being, if you find a mistake, you can click "Copy" or "Move" again, which is actually very practical in daily work.

4. Error Ignore

Copy error is a common problem (such as CD), Win7's approach is to cancel subsequent tasks directly, if the entire copy includes More files are more troublesome, you need to start over or confirm the unreplicated files one by one. TeraCopy's approach is very user-friendly. When it encounters an error, it does not give up completely. Instead, it automatically ignores and continues to complete the remaining operations. Finally, after the end of the copy, all the errors are listed together to provide user-specific processing. Solved the problem of file copying for low reliability disks.
5. Faster

After talking about it for a long time, how will the speed problem that everyone care most about? We randomly made a small experiment, first selected a large volume file (volume: 2.03 GB) and a batch of small volume files (including 607 files, total volume: 161 MB) in the hard disk, and then passed the TeraCopy respectively. It was compared to the Win7 built-in module for a cross-partition (same drive) copy.

As can be seen from the results, whether it is a single large file copy, or a small file collection copy, TeraCopy is faster than the Win7 built-in module, which is mainly due to TeraCopy Dynamic caching, if it is an asynchronous copy between two physical drives, can be more obvious.

Postscript

How? This TeraCopy is pretty good. Of course, compared with Win8's built-in replication function, it needs to be strengthened in some aspects of humanization, but it is definitely much stronger than Win7. The most important thing is that we only need to follow the usual habits, do not have to deliberately remember what, and can easily copy the "high" level without any effort, you still have to try?
