Win7 system optimization, improve system performance

System optimization, improve system performance (pro test)

I don’t know if you noticed it, there is a name in the Windows directory of Vista and Windows7 system disk. For the winsxs folder, for the entire Windows directory, this folder takes up more than half of its volume (nearly 3GB). Not only that, but as the system usage time continues to increase, the volume of the winsxs folder will become even more Big.

This fast "smashing meat" will inevitably slow down the system. If it's just for this reason, it's too much trouble to repartition the hard drive to make the system disk space bigger and then reinstall the system! In fact, we can take a simpler way to throw winsxs into the other hard disk partitions, free up more unused space for the system disk and make the system run faster. Through several such system optimizations, I have carried out the improvement and optimization of operation and security with reference to the information already provided on the Internet. Now I will introduce it to you through the following. Most of the content is provided online. I just optimized it. Wang Thanks for the support and support of netizens!

Tips:

The role of the winsxs folder

winsxs is a very important folder in the Windows directory of Vista/Windows7. There are many important components in this folder. The version is also very complicated. In order to ensure the normal operation of Windows, the files inside are not deleted. These folders support mscorwks.dll, and they cannot be loaded without nmscorwks. If you force the deletion, you may only be able to enter Windows in safe mode, and Windows will "hang".

Prepare before starting work:

1, system patch upgrade

2, winsxs transfer planning and copy transfer

3, Windows PE boot Disk (Recommendation)

First Step
:
Create a link.

Download "PendMoves and MoveFile" from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/bb897556.ASPx, and then extract the ZIP file compression package named "PendMoves". Go to the "X:\\Windows\\System32" directory (X is the system disk, the same 99% of the users here is C); then right-click the menu "Start - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt" to run as an administrator, Open the "Command Prompt" window; the following two commands are executed at the cursor of the last window (press the Enter key for each command input),

cd \\Windows

Mklink /D winsxs.link winsxs.moved

Tips:

Because running as administrator, the default path is X:\\Windows\\System32 when opening, so you need to relocate to the Windows folder Use cd.. to return to the parent directory. The DOS command "mklink /D winsxs.link winsxs.moved" means to create a directory link to winsxs.moved called winsxs.link. You can also download the SysinternalsSuite toolkit, which has a lot of tools under Windows. Of course, the two above are also included.

Step 2: Get full control over the
winsxs
folder.

Double-click on the desktop "computer" icon, navigate to: In "X \\ Windows" directory; then right-click "winsxs" file in that directory folder, select "Properties" to open "winsxs The "Security" tab of the dialog "Properties" and click on the "Advanced" button of the tab, then switch to the "Owners" tab in the newly popped "Winsxs Advanced Security Settings" dialog and click on it Tab's "Edit" button; then in the pop-up dialog box, select the "Administrators" option and check the "Replace sub-container and object owner" checkbox, and finally click the "OK" button.

Tips:

Before executing the command, you need to set the permissions, otherwise you will be prompted with Error:5, and the folder should be in the winsxs folder before the permission operation. Transfer to the target disk (such as d:\\winsxs) to avoid security vulnerabilities and defects caused by the transfer after the permission operation. If the system security requirements are high, install the patch before the transfer, and the patch system is also installed in this folder. In the middle, but after the transfer, due to the use of a soft connection, the normal upgrade of the patch cannot be performed. These two are the most noteworthy places after multiple transfers!

Step 3: Rename and copy files.

After executing the two DOS commands in the first step, the following two commands are executed at the cursor at the Command Prompt window:

movefile X:\\ Windows\\winsxs X:\\Windows\\winsxs.moved

movefile X:\\Windows\\winsxs.link X:\\Windows\\winsxs

Tips:

Two DOS The meanings of the commands are: rename the "winsxs" folder in the "X:\\Windows" directory to "winsxs.moved", and rename "winsxs.link" in the "X:\\Windows" directory to winsxs.

After completing the renaming of folders and files, restart the system, and then copy all the contents of the "winsxs.moved" folder under the "X:\\Windows" directory to a system disk. The "Windows, winsxs" directory of the hard disk partition (such as "D:\\winsxs") can be used.

Step 4: Establish association and delete
"winsxs.moved"
folder.

Run Cmd again as an administrator, and then execute the following three commands at the cursor:

cd \\Windows

rmdir winsxs
mklink /D winsxs D:\\winsxs
Tips:

The meaning of the two DOS commands is:

Delete the link named "winsxs" in the "X:\\Windows" directory"rmdir Winsxs" then create a new link with the same name, point to "m:link/D winsxs D:\\winsxs" in the "D:\\winsxs" directory and complete the new link named "winsxs" pointing to the "D:\\winsxs" directory. After creating the work, then restart the system, and finally delete the folder named "winsxs.moved" in the "X:\\Windows" directory. If it is normal to give the operation administrator full permission to delete the folder, some files cannot be cleared, and the system will still start some services through the program of this folder, so the best way is to find a window first. The PE disk is booted directly from the CD to delete the remaining files. Note: This operation is also run under full operation rights, so the full control permission of this folder must be added in the Win7 system.

The meat winsxs folder is thrown into other partitions outside the system disk, thus freeing up more unused space for the system disk. Windows 7 can run faster. This is of course a matter of course.

If you accidentally delete winsxs, you can restore it like this

Get a system disk and then type sfc /scannow in the start run bar to fix it
