Solving the problem of fingerprint reader in Windows 7

Surprise my friends, the Windows7 system has built-in fingerprint software. According to the normal situation, the laptop with Windows 7 can use the fingerprint recognition function instead of entering the password when booting. However, when I installed the official version of Windows7 and found that I started to register fingerprint information, I immediately made an error. How to solve it?

This problem is actually caused by the driver and software problems of the fingerprint reader. After installing Windows 7, the first time you search for a patch online, the driver and software related to the fingerprint reader will be downloaded automatically. Since most fingerprint reader modules on notebooks are produced by Authen, it should be very easy for Microsoft to solve the fingerprint reader problem. But now because the driver development has not kept up, even the drivers including Windows Update can not be used normally. There are two solutions to this problem.

Method 1: Install the official Windows 7 driver package of Authen

The official driver is naturally no problem. The 32-bit version is available for download at http://www.authentec.com/win7beta32.cfm. If it is 64-bit Windows 7, please change win7beta32.cfm in the link to win7beta64.cfm. After installing the driver software and rebooting, you can start the fingerprint boot function in the "Biometric Device" of the control panel.

The method of use is as follows: click a finger → slowly move the corresponding finger three times through the fingerprint reader (Figure 1) → After brushing and let the software know the fingerprint correctly, click “Finish” in the Congratulations interface to complete registered.

We said that no big problem does not mean that there is no problem at all. Because this driver package is still a beta version, see the digital signature is still in April this year, it is old enough.

Because it is still a beta version, there are the following problems: 1. When the system is restored after a long period of sleep or sleep, the fingerprint reader does not respond. Enter your password to log in. This is caused by imperfect drivers, which caused problems in power management due to imperfect drivers. 2, the function is very simple, this program only supports system login verification, other functions are not supported.

Method 2: Use UPEK Protector Suite 2009 to replace the system auto-driver

Software download address please see http://bbs.cbifamily.com/showthread.php?p=807564, this address Also have some special information. This software is not produced by notebook fingerprint module manufacturer Authen, but because Windows7's fingerprint driver has the same place, this software is compatible with some notebooks. After downloading the software from the above URL and importing the special information extracted from the Lenovo version, you can use the software normally. This software is automatically registered to the system as described in Method 1.

The advantage of this method is better stability and more functions. For example, it can provide functions such as encrypted file, password management, application startup, and electronic wallet. The interface is also Chinese (Figure 2).

The "application startup" is especially fun, you can achieve the thumb to start the browser, the middle finger to start MSN, the ring finger to start QQ, etc.; Counting the toes, you can customize the quick start mode of 20 programs, it is very powerful! It is much better than the first method to provide boot verification. The downside of this approach is that it does not have enough breadth of support for the notebook fingerprinting module.
