Hybrid Boot

Modern people's work and life rhythm is getting faster and faster. When we use computer equipment, we run more and more software, programs and applications at the same time. When the computer is turned on and off, it needs to be turned on and off. The process is naturally very much. How to make the computer start up faster and enter the familiar working state becomes a problem that users are very concerned about. In addition to higher hardware configurations, efficient system operation efficiency and strategy are of paramount importance. Compared with the previous version of Windows, the boot speed of Win8 system has been greatly improved. If you match SSD with SSD, you can almost achieve 7-8 seconds of "instant start". So how does Win8 do it? The secret is "Hybrid Boot".
Simply, the principle of "hybrid startup" is to shut down the user session only when the system is shut down, and let the system kernel session go to sleep state, thus effectively improving the startup speed of the Win8 system.

We might as well review the previous version of Windows for "sleep" & rdquo; & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & &;
<;Sleep>: In the sleep state, Windows will cut off the power of other accessories except the memory. The working status data will be saved in the memory. When you need to wake up, just press the power button or shake the USB mouse. Quickly wake up the computer state before the computer sleeps. However, because the sleep state does not save the desktop state to the hard disk, if the power is turned off during the sleep state, the unsaved information will be lost.
 Hibernate>: In hibernation, Windows saves the open document and program to a file on the hard disk. After waking up, it reads data from this file and loads it into physical memory. This file is the same size as physical memory. Since the file written by memory during hibernation is a disk file, the speed of reading is much higher than that of accessing the disk during normal startup, which is naturally much faster than normal startup. In the sleep state, even if the power is turned off, the saved data will not be affected. When the computer wakes up, all the work can still be resumed normally. After entering the sleep state, all accessories are not powered, so the power consumption is very small.
“Shutdown”: A complete shutdown is to close the user session and the system kernel session at the same time.
Hybrid Boot of Win8: Microsoft has replaced the Hybrid Boot function by default in Windows 8. The traditional shutdown function —— Win8 only shuts down the user session when the system is shut down, the system kernel session goes to sleep state, that is, saves the system kernel session to a memory image file; the next time the system is powered on, the system does not need to be started one by one. Instead, the memory image in the direct hard disk can be read into the memory. This advanced hibernation can greatly improve the startup speed of the Win8 system. This is especially important for tablets.
Let's take a look at the settings for the hybrid startup in the Win8 system, and then click "Control Panel & mdash; System and Security & mdash; Power Options & mdash; Select the function of the power button".

In the setting interface shown in the figure below, we can see that by default Win8 system "Shutdown settings" in the "Start Quick Start (Recommended)" is selected by default, That is to say, Microsoft said that Hybrid Boot is enabled by default in Windows 8.

In some cases where hardware needs to be added or replaced, we may still need to shut down completely and restart the system. If you need to shut down completely, you can click the blue setting above in the setting interface shown above to change the currently unavailable settings ”, close the quick start option and make other corresponding settings. Or press “Win+R”, enter the command “shutdown.exe -s -t 00” in the run window.
To restart the system, press the “Win+I” key combination on the Win8 start screen or use your finger to swipe the pop-up button from the right end of the screen to the middle and select the “set> gear icon, then select &ldquo ;Restart”.

It is because the Win8 system uses Hybrid Boot or Advanced Sleep mode to replace the traditional “Shutdown”, so the Win8 system has a fast boot. Microsoft staff recommends that users do not need to shut down frequently when using the Windows 8 operating system, because the Win8 system consumes very little power in the advanced sleep state, and can guarantee that we can boot at high speed when needed. But at the same time, the Win8 system also provides flexible shutdown mode settings and restart mode, you can choose according to your needs.
