Windows 8 traditional desktop for a new look

According to foreign media reports, Microsoft will add more Metro user interface elements on the Windows 8 desktop.

A screenshot of the task manager released by the Microsoft Windows 8 blog shows that the translucent window Aero interface introduced by Windows Vista has disappeared. The new Metro interface is more prominent and simpler, and the color is more heavy. Of course, Aero is still the default interface for Windows 8 systems.

By adding the Metro element, Microsoft will reduce user complaints about traditional desktop and touch-based splash screens (all for Metro interface). Chicago-based Sun Times author Andy Ihnatko once joked: “When the classic Windows 7 interface pops up, it is like a drunken uncle who appears at an elegant family wedding. ”

Adding a Metro look and feel to the classic Windows interface may alleviate the difference, but it will inevitably be encountered in the operation. In the past, Microsoft has been allowing users to use the old system interface. For example, Windows 7 users can set the system user interface to Windows XP style.

At the moment, we don't know if Windows 8 supports the XP interface.
