Report says Windows8 tablet does not have a price advantage

The US investment company BernsteinResearch has released a 33-page report. The report looks ahead to the future of other electronic products such as PCs equipped with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.

The report states that the chip architecture based on the Windows 8 operating system will come from the British chip designer ARM, not Intel or AMD. The report authors believe that Windows 8 based on the ARM architecture will greatly adjust the balance of the current Winte1 ecosystem. They predict that laptops with Windows 8 will be “WARM” and will be 10% cheaper than the traditional “Winte1” products. And because of the structural cost advantages of ARM's high volume orders, the technology can account for 60% of the global consumer electronics market below $500.

The report believes that the Metro user interface on the Windows 8 operating system will strongly support Metro style apps, but may not have a bonus effect on tablets with Windows 8. In addition, from the price point of view, “WARM” media may not have a prominent competitive advantage compared to Apple’s iOS tablet and Google’s Android tablet.

The report writes that Windows 8 tablets may have a structural cost disadvantage due to higher requirements and more expensive software costs for Windows 8-compatible hardware compared to Android tablets.

And Microsoft has also released the Windows 8 logo, which shows that Microsoft intends to break the boat, highlight the determination of innovation, and return to the origin of Windows. Because from Windows 8, Microsoft will abandon the 20-year-old Windows logo — — slightly wavy red, yellow, blue, and green four-frame window, which has been in the computer since it was launched in Windows 3.1. At startup, or a corner of the desktop is accompanied by a large number of PC users.
Today, Microsoft has not only given up the color and shape scheme of the Windows logo, but even the start button has changed. The new logo is monochrome and streamlined, making people feel a bit strange. Microsoft's move is also trying to emphasize their radical innovation in operating system concepts. Some people are very interested in this new design, and some people don't catch a cold. However, Microsoft is no longer the same as Microsoft. They are also undergoing major changes.
