Upgrading to Windows 8 will cause some software to fail to run

Windows 8 Developer Preview has a lot of problems in its use, which naturally includes compatibility. Microsoft pointed out in Knowledge Base article KB2622197 that testers may find that the system is not compatible with some software after upgrading to Windows 8 Developer Preview (Build 8102).

Previously, Microsoft also said that the Windows 8 Developer Preview is temporarily unable to support USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices, and it also provides multiple fixes for problems in the Windows 8 Developer Preview. Although Microsoft promises that Windows 8 will provide maximum compatibility support for existing software and hardware, the current system has not yet entered the Beta beta stage, and the development task is still very difficult.

Microsoft pointed out: "If you upgrade from an existing Windows system to a Windows Developer Preview, some applications may not be available after the system upgrade is complete. In addition, you will receive the following message in the compatibility report: they will work fine after some operations. This information does not include other guidance to help you solve the problem. ”

Although Microsoft recommends that testers perform a fresh installation of Windows 8, it does not prevent users from upgrading on existing systems. & ldquo; To solve this problem, you can reinstall the (unusable) application after the upgrade process is complete. We recommend that you install the latest version, which will ensure that the software is more compatible with the Windows Developer Preview. & rdquo;
