Windows 8 Development Preview Releases First Update Patch

Microsoft has begun to push update patches for Windows 8 Developer Preview via Windows Update!

Some of these patches fix text entry problems with third-party address input applications when the Metro application terminates; some patches (KB2616676) revoke the DigiNotar root certificate to protect users from hackers. Microsoft also released the patch for Windows 7 and other systems earlier this month. After installation, IE users will not be able to access the website issued by DigiNotar.

Microsoft has also released a blue screen fix. When users install the Windows Phone 7.1 SDK candidate, Windows 8 may have a blue screen, but it can be solved after installing the patch. The update released by Microsoft applies to the Windows 8 Developer Preview version from 8102.101.winmain_win8m3.110830 to 8102.109.winmain_win8m3.110912.
