Win8.1 When installing MATLAB, I am prompted to be unable to access your network location. What should I do?

MATLAB is a powerful math software that is rarely accessible to the average user. Xiaobian helped a friend install this software on his Win8.1 64-bit system. During the installation process, "The network location where the function you are trying to access cannot be accessed" is an error message. This is actually because MATLAB's own Vc2005 can not be installed on Win8.1, so MATLAB can not continue to install, and we only need to install the Vc2005 runtime library that comes with the MATLAB installation file.

concrete steps:

1, find the disc MATLAB \\ R2014a_Windows \\ bin \\ win64 \\ vcredist_x64.exe, copy and extract out, there will be two files: vcredis1.cab and Vcredist.msi.

2. When “The network location where the function you are trying to access cannot be accessed” is clicked. Click “OK” to try again. Or enter the package containing the installation package in the box below. vcredist. Msi” folder path”, click below to browse, browse to find these two files open and you can successfully install.

3, then you can continue to install MATLAB.

MATLAB with Vc2007, 2008, 2010 can be successfully installed on Win8.1, only 2005 alone in Win8.1 can not be successfully installed, but WinXP system can be successfully installed. Obviously, the Vc2005 that comes with MATLAB is complete, but there is a problem running on Win8.1, which makes it impossible to complete the installation.
