Disabling AutoPlay and Run in Windows 8

The autoplay feature of Windows has become a problem for users because most viruses spread through USB or CD/DVD autoplay and operation. In Microsoft's latest Windows 8 operating system, autoplay is turned on by default.

When inserting a CD/DVD or USB, you will see a notification in the upper right corner. When you click it, you will see an interface similar to the one below. You can choose to operate.

If you want to turn off the auto play and run functions, you can refer to the following method.

1. Close via the control panel

Open the control panel and find the autoplay option.

After opening the autoplay options page, uncheck the box to use auto for all media and devices. Play.

2, close by group policy editor

Enter gpedit.msc in the run window or gpedit.msc through the charm toolbar, open the local group policy editor and click on Computer Configuration &rarr ;Management Templates & Rarr; Windows Components & Rarr; AutoPlay Policy,

Then turn off AutoPlay settings in the AutoPlay policy and select Edit,

Select Enabled to enable this feature, then select Turn off autoplay playback (including CD-ROM and removable media drives and all drives), click Apply and OK, and then turn off autoplay.
