Making U disk system installation disk does not format U disk to retain data skills

The U disk will be formatted during the production process, resulting in the loss of U disk data. Therefore, before production, we need to back up the data files in the U disk, and then copy it back after making it, which is very troublesome. So, is there a way to format the U disk system installation disk without formatting the U disk to retain the data file? Yes, Microsoft Chiefs will share with you below.

First, create a new txt text file and copy the following into it:

Windows
Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\ Microsoft\\ISO Backup Tool]

"Version"="1.0.30"

"Shortcut"="1"

"DisableFormat"=dword :00000001

Then rename the text document to a file with an extension (suffix) of reg, such as “DisableFormat.reg”. Then double-click to run DisableFormat.reg, add information to the registry, a warning window will pop up, select “ is ”.

After adding the information to the registry, you can open the Registry Editor and navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft” and you will see that a new  ISO Backup Tool" Next, three new values are created: Version, Shortcut, and DisableFormat. As shown in the figure:

When you run the Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool to create the U disk system installation disk (see the production tutorial
), it will prompt to clear the data. As shown in the figure:

But you can boldly click on the “Erase USB Device" button to continue. The Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool does not format the USB flash drive to clear the data. After the U disk system installation disk is created, you will find that the data in the U disk has been retained.

If you want to restore the USB flash drive during the production process, just delete the previously added "ISO Backup Tool" item in the Registry Editor. Or modify the contents of the reg file you made earlier, and change the 1 at the end of "DisableFormat"=dword:00000001 to 0, that is, "DisableFormat"=dword:00000000. Then re-run the reg file to add information to the registry.
