Idle the mobile disk Experience Windows 10

Windows
10 technology preview version has been released, but this version is not a formal release version after all, there are many problems, you need to find and solve for Microsoft. In view of this situation, I don't think there will be many people who are willing to put their own system out of a problematic evaluation version! However, in the face of new things, there is always the urge to try, this is not a bad thing. How to resolve this contradiction? We have the best of both worlds. Do you have a spare mobile hard drive (20GB enough)? Come and put this evaluation version on it, you can experience the new features of Windows
10!

1. Download the ISO installation package

Apply to the preview version of the experience plan via the Microsoft Windows Preview Program website (http://www.dwz.cn/uQHpU) 1). When you join, you can log in with your existing Microsoft account, or you can sign up for a new user to join the experience. After successful login, enter the preview version download page (http://www.dwz.cn/tTJnx), you can see the preview download steps and notes (Figure 2). On this page, Microsoft provides a multi-national version of the download link (there are 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Simplified Chinese that we care about), click to download. The page also provides the product key: NKJFK-GPHP
7-G8C3J-P6JXR-HQRJR (Figure 3).

2. Preparing the installation tool

Although we can burn the downloaded ISO installation package to CD-ROM or decompress it into Windows PE U disk. Perform a new installation of the hard disk, but inadvertent operation will damage the original system. We have to install it on a mobile hard drive, so we need a handy tool.

Take the mouse to the official website of WinToUSB software (http://www.dwz.cn/uQHC1). At the bottom of the page, you can see the latest version 1.6 download link. This version supports Windows 10 installation to mobile. Download and install the software on your hard drive (Figure 4).

Tips:

Installing a mobile Windows system with this software has no demanding requirements for the currently used system version.

3. Install to mobile hard disk

Start WinToUSB 1.6, browse and load the downloaded Windows 10 ISO file through the button at the "ISO file" dialog box, pay attention to the 32-bit or 64-bit version number. After loading, select the installed version from the window list as “Windows Technical Preview", click “Next” (Figure 5).

After that, the software requires a partitioning scheme for the mobile hard disk, because the old hard disk generally does not have a large capacity, so select "MBR partitioning scheme" (Figure 6). Note that all data on the removable hard drive will be erased. If it contains data, it is not too late to back up the backup. After confirming that the data is useless, click “OK" to continue. The format window will be displayed. After formatting is complete, a pop-up window will appear, selecting the system partition and the boot partition (Figure 7). Since we are using a mobile hard disk to boot and use Windows 10, both partitions are selected as the same partition. Then click “Next” to complete subsequent system partition data and write data write operations.

4. Using the mobile disk system

After the system files and startup files are written to the mobile disk, connect the mobile hard disk and restart the computer
, Go to the BIOS setting of Computer
and set the first boot device to USB hard drive boot priority. After booting, it will enter the blue Windows logo initial window, then enter the system configuration process, after a simple prompt and simple human-computer interaction, you can experience the new system. The intermediate steps are similar to the Windows 8.1 installation steps, and are more simple and will not be detailed here.

After automatic configuration and reboot, you can use this disk to experience the new system.

Small Tips:

If the startup is not successful, it will directly enter the original system boot of the computer's internal hard drive. At this time, please shield the internal hard disk from the BIOS settings, and only set the boot with a USB hard drive. This will prevent other drive letters from interfering with the startup of the mobile hard disk, which will greatly improve the success rate of the mobile hard disk boot.

Extended reading:

There may be errors in installing Windows 10 using the above methods on individual computers. If this is the case, try another approach. This method is basically the same as the principle of the above method. It is to release the system file and startup file directly from the installation ISO to the mobile hard disk, but this method is solved by the command prompt window, and is not limited by the 20 GB capacity of the mobile hard disk. This method can be used with a smaller capacity.

Download the 32x or 64 bit image installation tool Imagex.exe from the Internet. Extract the install.wim file from the Windows 10 installation ISO file and place it in a working directory on any partition under the Windows 8.1 system computer along with Imagex.exe. In the administrator's "command prompt" environment to enter the working directory, execute “imagex /apply install.wim 1 F:\\” (if the mobile hard drive letter is F), release the system files. Then execute “bcdboot F:\\windows /s F:” release the startup file to the mobile hard disk. After booting the system with a mobile hard disk, after a simple configuration, you can boot Windows 10 with a mobile hard disk.

If you don't have a mobile hard disk and want to install Windows 10 without affecting the existing data on the hard disk, you can use the NT6 HDD Installer tool to install Windows 10 to a non-existing system partition to form a double. System or multiple systems, no need to select the version and enter the product key during installation, the network can automatically activate Windows.
