How diskgenius quickly partitions

The fast partitioning feature is used to quickly repartition the disk. It is used to partition a new hard disk or completely repartition a hard disk that already has a partition. When implemented, all existing partitions will be deleted, and then the disk will be partitioned according to the specified requirements. Immediately after partitioning, all the gate areas will be quickly styled. Users can specify the size of each partition, examples, volume labels, and so on. With just a few simple manipulations, you can complete the partition and style. If you do not change the default number of partitions, examples, size, etc., open the quick partition dialog (shortcut F6) press “ OK & rdquo; to complete the re-partitioning and manipulation of the disk.
To activate this feature, click on the 'Hard Disk - Quick Partition' menu item, or press the “F6” key. The software displays the following dialog box:

By default, this function automatically selects the target disk whose current disk is a fast partition. If the current disk is not the target disk to be operated, click the disk name in the upper left corner of the dialog box, and the program will pop up the disk selection window.

1. Select the number of partitions. After opening the dialog box, simply press “3, 4, 5, 6” to quickly select the number of partitions. It can also be selected by mouse click. Once selected, the right half of the dialog immediately displays the corresponding number of partition lists. The default number of partitions is determined according to the size of the disk: 3 partitions of 60G and below, 4 partitions larger than 60G less than 150G, 5 partitions greater than or equal to 150G less than or equal to 320G, and 6 partitions larger than 320G.

2. Adjust the partition parameters. The right half of the dialog box shows the basic parameters of each partition, including the partition type, size, volume label, whether it is the primary partition, and so on. Users can adjust to their needs and preferences.

1), partition type: fast partition function is only available in two types: NTFS and FAT32. 2), partition size: The default partition size is set according to the following rules: First, according to the specified number of partitions, if the average partition is less than 15G, the partition size is evenly distributed. Secondly, if the average capacity is greater than (or equal to) 15G, the size of the first partition is calculated as 1/20 of the total capacity of the disk, but not less than 25G, and is fixed to 25G if it is less than 25G. The other partitions evenly distribute the remaining capacity. This is because the first partition is generally used to install the system and software. If it is too small, it may not fit, it is too big and waste. There is a “lock” icon in front of the capacity input edit box. When the user changes the capacity of a certain partition, the size of the partition is "locked". When the capacity of other partitions is changed, the capacity of the partition is not automatically adjusted by the program. The icon is displayed as “locked” status. The user can also freely change the lock status by clicking the icon; after initializing or changing the number of partitions, the first partition is locked, and the other partitions are unlocked; when the user changes the capacity of a certain partition, the other is not “The locked” partition will automatically split the capacity of "remaining"; if all partitions except the partition being changed are locked, only the size of the first and last partitions will be adjusted. Which one is ultimately adjusted is determined by the order in which they were last changed. If the first partition is changed, the tail partition is automatically adjusted, and the first partition is adjusted. The adjusted partition is automatically unlocked. After clicking the “Default Size" button, the software will reset the partition size according to the default rules. The partitions divided by this function, except for the partitions that use the “remaining capacity”, are all “integer partitions”, which is displayed as “integer” in the resource manager of Windows
; The size looks more beautiful.

3), the volume label: the software sets the default volume label for each partition, the user can choose or change it, or click the “Empty all labels” button to turn all partitioned volumes. The standard is cleared. 4) Whether it is the primary partition (the GUID partition table has no concept of logical partitioning, this setting is invalid for GPT disk partitioning): You can choose whether the partition is a primary partition or a logical partition. Set by checking. It should be noted that a disk can only have a maximum of 4 primary partitions. When there are more than 4 partitions, it must be set as a logical partition. The extended partition is also a primary partition. The software automatically adjusts the available status of this option based on the user's selection. 5) Align the partition location: For some hard disks with large physical sectors, such as 4KB physical sector Western Digital “Advanced Format” hard disk, the partition should be aligned to an integral multiple of the physical sector number. Otherwise, the efficiency of reading and writing will decrease. At this point, you should check “ align to the integer multiple of the following number of sectors & rdquo; and select the number of sectors to be aligned.

3, other settings: 1), rebuild the master boot record (MBR). This is the default option. Do not check this option if there is an MBR-based boot manager on the disk and you still need to keep it. 2) Fast partitioning of GPT disks: This function is also applicable to creating GUID partition tables on GPT disks. At the top of the right half of the Quick Partition dialog, the partition table type (MBR or GPT) of the current disk is displayed next to “Advanced Settings. In addition, for GPT disks, you can also choose how to handle ESP partitions and MSR partitions. In the case of an ESP partition, you can < retain the existing ESP partition & rdquo;, you can <; create a new ESP partition & rdquo;.

Once all the settings have been adjusted, click the “OK” button to perform partitioning and formatting. If there is an old partition on the disk, the software will display the following prompt before execution:

After the fast partition is executed, the original partition on the disk (if it exists) will be deleted automatically. The newly created first primary partition will be activated automatically.
