Microsoft recently updated the Win10 Preview KMS Client Installation Key on TechNet, which is used for volume licensed versions of Windows 10 Professional, Enterprise The version, the education version, the 2015 Enterprise LTSB version, and the N version corresponding to the above version cannot be activated in the retail version. According to TechNet news, by default, run Volume Licensed versions of Windows 10 Preview, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista And Windows Server 2008 computers are KMS clients that do not require additional configuration.

To use the keys listed here (they are GVLK), you must first run the KMS host in your deployment. If you have not configured a KMS host, see Deploy KMS Activation for the steps to install a host.

If you are converting your computer from a KMS host, MAK, or retail version of Windows to a KMS client, select the appropriate installer key (GVLK) from the table below to install it. To install the client installer key, open an administrative command prompt on the client, type slmgr /ipk, and press Enter.
