Win10 official home version users may be forced to download and install system updates

July 29 Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium and non-professional Windows 8.1 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. However, Microsoft said in the Windows 10 product page: Windows 10 Home users will automatically get available updates from Windows Update, Windows 10 Professional and Enterprise users have the ability to postpone updates. Although Microsoft is vague, it may mean that Windows Home users have no ability to prevent automatic system updates, while Windows 7/8.1 users have the ability to block automatic updates.

This means two things: when updates are available, they are downloaded and installed immediately, but not necessarily forced to restart; second, Windows Home users cannot bypass buggy updates. Currently in the Insider Preview program, the update is set to automatically get an automatic installation, but provides an option to schedule when to reboot, without the option to manually check for updates, or postpone downloads and installations.
