Free upgrade within one year after the official release of win10

In the morning of Microsoft's "New Chapter" conference, Microsoft announced more information about Windows 10, and revealed that users can upgrade from Windows 7/8/8.1 system to Windows 10 for free for one year. However, the information disclosed at the press conference is inevitably confusing. Is there any additional charge after one year?

This morning, Microsoft officially released the Windows 10 Consumer Preview, and announced that all genuine Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users can upgrade for free within one year after the official release of Windows 10.

So, one year later? Can these free upgrade users receive the same benefits as genuine? The answer given by Gabriel Aul, director of the Microsoft Insiders project.

Gabriel Aul said that once users upgrade to Windows 10, Microsoft will provide updates and support during the device support lifecycle, even after a free upgrade for one year.

Of course, if you upgrade after Windows 10 is released one year later, you will be charged accordingly.
