Microsoft patch no longer publicly shares patch notices on Tuesday, only open to advanced consumers

For more than a decade, as a regular part of the "Patch Tuesday" project, Microsoft will share the advance notice service (ANS) in advance, and preview the general content of the patch that will be launched this month, and get a rough understanding of the general content of the patch and the importance of security. Level and quantity, etc. However, since 2015, Microsoft announced that it has adjusted its forecasting model for more than a decade. Microsoft only provides ANS information to advanced consumers and companies currently deploying Microsoft security solutions, and no longer announces them to everyone in the form of announcements.

In the official blog post of Microsoft:

The ANS service has been perfected in the development of more than ten years, especially for large enterprises and institutions. However, according to consumer feedback data, a large part of Microsoft's consumers do not rely on ANS information to adjust the optimal deployment security strategy. Although some consumers still rely on ANS information, most consumers will wait for the patch to be released on Tuesday, and even consumers will automatically get updates through Windows Update.

More and more consumers are facing the complex patch world, and they are looking for patches suitable for individuals or organizations to achieve customized security solutions while ensuring device security. Consumers prefer to use Microsoft Update and security update management tools such as Windows Server Update Service to adjust and prioritize deployments by using ANS information to help deploy security updates. In addition, the system used by consumers is moving towards the cloud, and one of the features of the system is the ability to provide continuous system updates.
