Microsoft will stop Edge and IE11 RC4 password support in April

Computer store news: In order to protect the interests of Windows users, Microsoft has announced that Edge and Internet Explorer 11 browsers will no longer support RC4 stream passwords. Microsoft's related security bulletin RC4 said:

RC4 was first developed by Ron Rivest in 1987 and is the earliest stream cipher that is widely used. Originally used for commercial applications, it is faster and popular because it is cheap, fast, and easy to implement.

Microsoft discontinued support for RC4 streaming passwords because most industry professionals believe that RC4 is no longer a secure encryption method. Currently only TLS 1.2/1.1 to TLS 1.0 are using RC4, but there is a potential man-in-the-middle attack. Therefore, Microsoft will completely disable Edge and Internet Explorer 11 RC4 stream password support from April 12. It is not expected to affect the vast majority of Windows users. Microsoft also recommends that if users' web services currently rely on RC4, they need to upgrade to TLS 1.2 to improve the security of clients, servers and applications. It's very gratifying that Microsoft is always concerned about the security of Windows 10 and Edge.
