Can WIN10 benefit more than half of the XP

computer store: On April 8 last year, Microsoft officially stopped providing system services for Windows XP (hereinafter referred to as XP), 360 Internet Security Center released the latest "Windows XP" The Safety and Protection Report shows that although the proportion of XP systems has continued to decline over the past 12 months, it is still the operating system with the highest percentage of domestic users. Last month, Terry Myerson, executive vice president of Microsoft's operating system division, said in an interview with the company that he is working with partner 360 to upgrade the Win10 solution for XP users.

The Windows XP operating system was officially released on August 24, 2001. It is the longest running Windows operating system. 360 Internet Security Center statistics show that from the April 2014 XP system stop to March 2015, the proportion of computers using XP operating system in China dropped from 63.7% to 49.4%, a total decrease of 14.3%. Although the proportion of XP systems has continued to decline over the past 12 months, it still occupies half of the Windows system.

The report shows that in the past year, the proportion of Win7 computers in China has increased from 33.2% in April 2014 to 44.9% in March 2015, an increase of about 11.7 percentage points. In the same period, Win8's market share increased by only 2.9 percentage points to 5.4%. Most of the XP user upgrades that have been seen have chosen the Win7 operating system.

This summer, Microsoft will officially launch the latest operating system Win10, which can be upgraded free of charge by Chinese users. According to the information released by Microsoft, the commonly used Win7, Win8 and Win8.1 can be upgraded to Win10. As far as the upgrade path is concerned, Microsoft chose 360 as the only security partner for Win10 upgrade. At that time, users can upgrade the genuine Win10 with one-click free upgrade through the 360 security guard's built-in Win10 upgrade assistant. The entire upgrade process takes 1 to 2 hours. Compared with some methods that require a downloader to upgrade, it is safer and more convenient for 360 security guards to refuse silent upgrades.

For XP computers, which currently occupy half of the Chinese market, Terry Myerson, executive vice president of Microsoft's operating system division, said in an interview with the media on March 18 that he is working with partner 360 to research upgrades for XP users.

If the solution is implemented, XP users will be able to upgrade to genuine Win10 for free through 360 security guards. However, since the hardware configuration of XP computers is generally low, it is recommended that XP users use 360 security guards before upgrading Win10. The Win10 Upgrade Assistant checks the computer to determine if the computer configuration meets the configuration criteria for installing Win10.
