Microsoft exposes new patents, Lumia Win10 flagship or will be equipped with dual-screen

computer store news: Microsoft is one of the most patent-owned companies in the United States, part of which is to receive royalties from Android phone manufacturers. At the same time, Microsoft does not mind applying for patents on any innovative technology, whether it is in reality enhancement technology or emotional perception bra.

Many of the patents held by Microsoft don't have the opportunity to “see the sky” because they are all Microsoft's application to restrict competitors. But if you combine these patents with the recent comments of Tuula Rytil & auml; vice president of marketing at Lumia, it's very interesting.

The content of this disclosure relates to the hinge mechanism used in mobile electronic devices such as mobile phones and portable computers. Traditional mobile electronic devices equipped with hinge mechanisms, such as "Flip Phones", usually consist of two parts, connected by independent pivots. In the closed state, the independent pivot is located on a plane between the two components. Due to this geometric principle, such a flip device cannot be opened to 180 degrees, and/or the hinge always forms a projection at a position between the two components.

Essentially, Microsoft's latest patents can best solve the problem that flip phones can't open 180 degrees without compromising in other areas. Lenovo recently achieved this breakthrough with their Yoga 3 Pro variant, thanks to its unique hinge design.

The following figure shows a multi-axis hinge mechanism for mobile electronic devices that allows the two parts of the device to be rotated at least 180 degrees.

Although the keyboard of the flip phone is in the second part, the above drawing shows that the two parts of the screen can fit snugly. Although the Android phone has a dual-screen phone design, it has not been done now.

During the MWC2015 conference a few weeks ago, the author interviewed Tuula Rytil & auml, vice president of marketing at Lumia. In the fan interaction session, some people criticized that Microsoft did not create enough differences between the low-end and high-end Lumia devices. Tuula praised the innovation of Surface Pro 3 in response to the query, and also said that the Lumia team would bring the creative spirit of Surface Pro 3. In the future of equipment:

When we consider high-end mobile phones, I don't think people who use mobile technology in the mobile state will only want 5 inch straight equipment to accompany their work and life, 5 inches. Straight equipment is not the end. I think we can still innovate or reinvent in many ways, which is a challenge for us and what we need to do.
