Windows Update cannot be installed with Win10 Preview system compression enabled. This is because when the system compression is turned on, the file deletion tracking function used by the file system causes the Windows Update Installer to think that the temporary files cannot be properly decompressed, which will prevent the Windows update from completing normally.

Note: If your computer uses a solid state drive (SSD) as the boot area, system compression is turned on by default.
